Lake Oeschinen in Kandersteg

Lake Oeschinen at the foot of the Blüemlisalp at 1578 metres above sea level is one of the larger Alpine lakes. A gondola lift takes you up to its vicinity from Kandersteg, a walk of just under half an hour across pastures and through fir forest leads to the lake, whose water gets up to 20 degrees in summer. Rowing boat trips or a ride on the summer toboggan run are possible activities.

In winter, in addition to the well-known winter sports such as skiing and cross-country skiing, you can also go sledging, winter hiking & ice walking on the frozen lake and even ice fishing.
