Giessbach Falls & Nature Park

This excursion is ideal for a hot summer's day. From Interlaken Ost (lake) you board the BLS boat and travel for an hour on the turquoise-coloured Lake Brienz. You can enjoy the surrounding mountain scenery and the breeze. Disembark at the Giessbach See boat station and take the historic funicular to the Grandhotel Giessbach.

The hotel is the starting point of several hikes and bike tours: the most famous of which is the 30-45 min. hike over several cascades of 400 m over 14 steps. The path follows the waterfall and is crossed by several bridges: be careful, the bridges can get very slippery.

Depending on energy and mood, different hikes can be selected. The forest offers protection from the mid-summer sun and provides natural cooling. Another option is, of course, to enjoy coffee & cake or a relaxed lunch at the Grandhotel Giessbach. The view from the terrace is impressively beautiful - like on a postcard.
